I really love it. Very very thick and aggressive. Obviously saturated af in a great way. Paired up with a 4x12 and good drums & bass in the room I think almost all of us could make some good tones and have fun. And it did not break the bank,...

the effortless wiring, the ease of switching pickups out on the fly to try new models from them, the fact that they offer open coil actives now in the retro series and a passive/active hybrid like the 57/66 etc Even their coil split pickups in the 89 and 81TW etc etc are a breeze to install and use and sound great.
Obviously Fishmans are also great pickups, but I feel the simplicity, price and tonal options EMG offer, is still...
I wasn't sure how I'd like these pickups but they're my new favorites after 81twx. Not too much depth on the quilt maple but the headstock laminate has good depth. The only real flaw I've noticed having it 12 hours is the painted a little bit over the nut on the bass side.

I had it set up at Sweetwater but the frets are pretty nice. Not as a nice as my SS Esp M1 but just that little much better. But I bought that used and...
I've been GAS-ing hard for one of those Japanese Schecters (the SD or NV series) for a long time, and someone in my country is selling this beautiful MIJ Schecter NV-24 for about $1600 (used):
At the same time, I broke my phone last week, after babying it for nearly 4 years and keeping it in near mint condition, it fell about 18 feet onto a metal step. So new phone, way fancier camera/macro lens, figured I'd try it out.
I've been increasingly getting into old 80s guitars from the US. Reading brochures and reading about some of the motivations of those guys, I really appreciate what they were trying to do in setting up high quality guitar...

Girls and boys, need a couple recommendations for BEFORE THE AMP noise gates. I run an old 50 watt (1981 I think) JCM 800. No FX loop on the back, of course, and I don't want to start farting around back there, it sounds great as is. Could use a gate when I've dimed everything and have a OD or boost pedal or two going. I am thinking of trying a Fortin Zuul but could also use a rec for something that's a little more binary. Thanks.

The first concept will be posted below in a moment.
Discussion is welcome.

By writing 'innovative' in the thread title i do not mean 'i am so innovative' =) I am using the word in the sense 'innovative design' to express 'new methods' etc.
