A 7 string Suhr Modern 24 in trans purple

    Nut Width....... 1.89"
    Neck scale...... 25.5"
    Bridge............ Locking Trem
Neck Options... bolt on, not ibanez thin, but not over fat either
Pickups........... No actives for me, just something passive, I could change the pickups easily then if need be.

In terms of woods, ebony fretboard would be nice, and either swamp ash or alder for the body I could go with :)

    25.5"

Apart from that, just a copy of a regular Suhr.

This thread is full of people who are replying:

"I wants a flying V with EMGS n 27 frets and a lo-por and dimarzios and a kill swith on the hedstock and a flamedd bubinga strap"

Without any regard to what a Suhr actually IS. It ISN'T a fucking Ibanez, okay?

Reading is hard. I know, I know but try it for me

And you are calling us idiots.

Now lets look at what you are asking for, 25.5" but the rest the same as a regular Suhr, despite the fact that he is talking about a new line of guitars, as in different to what they have now.

Most luthiers I have talked to agree with me that they think a longer scale on a 7 is better and that 27" is the ideal scale. 25.5" is the standard because it is the minimum spec that works good enough and the market has an unwarranted fear of longer scales. My dream guitar would have the better of the two, as I own both I think it is fair to say that I am in a good position to know which one I like better.

I could go into a detailed response for why I chose each spec that I did but I've done that plenty of times already and to everyone else it is pretty obvious.

The point is the OP was asking for specs of our dream guitars and we gave them to him. One of the only rules this place has is that you are not allowed to insult people the way you just did but insulting them for doing what the OP asked is just poor form.

Please take a look in the mirror before you post anything like this again.

Thinking is hard. I know, I know but try it for me

This is a SUHR we're talking about.

You seem to have taken everything that was originally asked for and read it LITERALLY. How useful do you really think suggesting a V-shape or a Lo-Pro is? While this may fall within the ambit of 'dream', it is irrelevant to the purposes of this thread. Suhr will never produce a V because it is not their market. It is not even really a market with a lot of potential for them, really. A Lo-Pro will never be used by Suhr as it was an IBANEZ tremolo produced for them by Floyd Rose. It is not made anymore, and will probably never be made again. So once again, the suggestions of a Lo-Pro are unhelpful and useless. Yes, I know the thread DID ask for ANYTHING that was your dream guitar, but come on. Use some common sense and suggest some things that may be useful to Mr. Suhr; things that he may actually consider building.

A lot of people here might not be familiar with Suhr and might not know that they don't really do Vs. That said, like Steve said, this is a new line of guitars. I don't think they generally do 7-string guitars, either, but here they are asking what we'd like to see on one. If they wanted to build a Suhr just like the others but with a seventh string, this thread would not exist. You're right that it probably doesn't help to suggest hardware that there is no chance they'd be able to use, but I think everything else is helpful information, and I also think you're coming across as a douchenugget in your last few posts.

Once again I would like to thank everyone for posting.

To try and clear some stuff up, I was asking for people's "dream" specs in order to see what people want with no limitations.
Ledzep4eva has a point in that we will never make a V shape, or use an ibanez bridge, but its no need to call people on this thread and idiot for contributing.

To answer Shadowlife, hum single single would be an option.

We will soon have an active pickups that will be an option.
The modern shape in the first picture will be the shape in the prototypes along with the bolt on neck.
As for neck scale, I think we would have 25.5" and 27" as options.
Finally, as for the trem bridge, we have decided to use the TRS 7 Pro Floyd Rose Tremolo system.

    Thanks again for everyones contributions.

This is cool. I hope John Suhr has some good ideas on 7-string passive pickups.

Body - Mahogany with Quilt Maple Top or Ash
    Scale - 25.5" or 27"
Bridge - Low Profile (It isn't just ibanez who make them...) Tremolo or fixed bridge
Neck - Maple, Bolt On AANJ
Pups - 2 Humbuckers (5 way switch and 1 vol), Piezo for fixed bridge)

Colour - Something other than black

I'd like better fret access though, similar to the Dean RC-7 so the lower horn doesn't get in the way. Thats just me though i guess.

Aside from posting specs, here's this...

There is not enough variety as far as shapes go, not very many singlecuts or explorer shapes, or Vs, etc. Seven string players like that stuff too!

Also, too many seven strings come with EMGs, and I'd like to see some production guitars with Kahlers on them!

Not to sound like a dick but if you put a TRS trem on a 2K and above guitar you will lose sales. You really need to offer OFR or get someone to build you one as good as an OFR. High end guitars shouldn't suffer from mediocre bridges.

Body: Mahogany w/ quilted maple top
Neck: 3 piece maple/walnut/maple neck thru with a Ebony fretboard
Neck profile: Schecter Blackjack-like, very beefy for my oversized hands :ugh:
Neck scale: 28" for my stupid low tunings.
    Frets: 27.
    Color: Trans red ofc.
Bridge: NON floating floyd rose. I can't stand floating floyd roses :nono:
Pickups: Blackouts, one bridge no neck
    Electronics: One volume.
Body shape: Xiphos or Beast shape. Those are the two shapes that don't look stupid on me
Inlays: Nothing. Dots on the side since I hate inlays on ebony.
    Binding: Whole guitar, white likely.
Headstock: Prolly 4x3, since I'm more comfortable with them anyways.

Thats about it for me lol
