I've always thought it would be funny to grab one of those daisy rock guitars, the ones shaped like butterflies and hearts, get it setup, and use it at a show.

literary any guitar with HH, a tone knob and coil split function, or 5 way switch, or simply a HSH. The rest is in your mind,

The Stratocaster was created specifically for playing 1950s country music. The Les Paul was created specifically for jazz. Both have been used for everything.

I can get really whatever tone I want to out of it, or close enough. But for me I can play that one for hrs on end.

I agree. With the stock pups and the 5 way switch, you can get plenty of tones. Add an amp that is touch dynamic and it's game over.

The real question should be, 'which amp and 1 pedal would you choose to everything'.

Absolutely my CS Parker Maxxfly 7. HH with push/pull coil splits, piezo, there's borderline nothing it can't do.

Parkers can do anything but continue to be made. Every time I consider selling one of mine, I remember that it’ll be impossible to replace without paying several times what I bought it for.

Nobody had made the explicit point that guitars aren't tied to genres.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
