Just wondering? Please explain. Why a time restraint on it? Thanks!
People were doing some childish and shady things both in the classifieds and other parts of the forum.
I used to run a smaller forum where we could easily deal with whatever.
However, when a forum scales up to the size of i.e. ss.org, it isn't too practical having posts being edited, as this can undermine the validity of how other posts may already have quoted the original source.
Of course not meaning to comment on behalf of the mods in here; just my own way of looking at it
I'm mildly curious, wickedout2014... how far back was your original post you wanted to change, and what kind of change had you wanted to make?
@rectifyer - I might decide to edit spelling, or change my opinion and not want to leave a source of contention, or just appear to anticipate what's to come. *laugh* Now there's an "Edited by X at this date/time" which prevents a change without it being identified as such.
I always thought it was strange that ss.org actually allowed it in the first place.
Is it time on all edits or just OPs?
All posts, including OPs, have a time limit of 48 hours in which they can be edited by the poster.
I'm still wondering what the OP wanted to change more than two days later. Hello?
Well, there are times we may find something quite wrong a Bit later on..
I wrote some incorrect "facts" in my OP in the A4+ and beyond thread, and would like to fix this, as it's misleading to newcomers - the rest of the gang likely know by now
I still understand and adhere to the forum politics, though.
