This has been happening alot lately. I will post in a thread or try and find a thread and it doesnt come up? I will click on "new posts" and see a bunch of posts from before it as well as after it but it wont be there.

I've been wondering the same thing. However, it's funny that this thread happened to work and come up in the new posts section. haha

A thread isn't "new" if there hasn't been a new post since you viewed it.

It only shows threads that you haven't already seen the last post of anymore, it's been like that for a while.

EDIT: :ninja:'d by Max. Damn.

I saw it in the new posts too. I then refreshed by hitting "new posts" again and now it has disappeared from new posts. What is going on?

Edit: OK guys Thanks I get it. Ive been tripping on this for a while now. Thank You very Much!!!

And heres some feedback as well as a suggestion at the same time. Get rid of this feature. I forget about alot of posts because of this. I hate it. If its going to remain this way then I demand to change the "new posts" to "new posts to me" or "new posts I have not seen yet". Its quite misleading.

^If you've been in a thread before and have seen the last post, then it's not a new post.

Thats where I got lost was my interpretation of "new posts". I always assumed that "new posts" meant "newest posts to the board" but I guess it means "newest posts Ive never seen". I guess I do see a positive with it being this way. With all the new members the past year and a half it gives you a chance to see posts you have not seen without having to go through 25 pages of posts and being annoyed by all the posts youve already seen.

That's exactly how I feel about it. :yesway:

At first I was annoyed by it too, but I quickly grew to love it. :)

    If memory serves...

I believe that threads which one hasn't entered or marked read remain in one's list of "new posts," along with a comment like, "The following topics haven't changed since you last visited, but are still unread."

When I visit, I normally pull up new posts, and then immediately go to Quick Links -> "Mark all threads as read." I can return to the search results and view the threads which interest me, but a subsequent search won't contain those threads which I didn't review... because I marked them as threads I had already read.
