I have Hipshot on my Mayones, and apparently the Schecter OEM ones are made by Hipshot, so I also have them on my schecter, they rock, and I just cut the strings with my tool like a normal person.

I have several sets of the Hipshots - they work great, the quality is excellent and they're a great company to work for.

    I've had several. Quick rundown:
    • Schaller - Good gear ratio but heavy and thumb wheel is a bit rough on the fingers
    • Sperzel - Light weight, comes in unusual colors but low gear ratio and the thumb wheels in the back are very rough
    • Gotoh Magnum Lock - Look like regular tuners, good gear ratio but string changes are a bit slower
    • Hipshot - Nothing bad to say about these.
The Gotoh Magnum Locks are my favorite with the Hipshots close behind.
