Im getting a custom guitar made for me by serenghetti guitars, and I wanted to make a bolt on 7 string neck for it. The body will be 34mm with half mahogany and half quilted maple. I wanted to do rosewood neck, and also thought about using zebrawood. regardless,it will have an ebony board. What do you guys think would be good?

Anybody have experience with zebrawood as a neck? how strong is it compared to maple or rosewood? Those are like the top of my 2 choices, But i still want your inputs!

When buying lumber the other day I was wondering the same thing about the Zebrawood. I thought that would be really cool, but decided to play it safe and not get it for a neck. So I'm curious about that as well.

I wish I knew that when I was in the city
Whateves. One day I'll do it.

To actually contribute to the thread, purpleheart, walnut, mahogany, wenge, rosewood, ziricote and maple are all good ones.

I am using wenge for my build. My reason is: I read it`s used for a lot of bass necks to create snappiness so it would make sense (to me) to use it for a little longer scale 7 string guitar so that big fat string is nice and tight and articulate!
