    I want to purchase an 8 string, and I want the following;

    Preferably active PUPs, would prefer to not switch (will switch to Seymour Duncan Blackout 8s or EMG 808s eventually regardless, but having these is a bonus!). If the guitar comes with a good passive pair I may consider!

    Set-neck and/or neck thru (no bolt ons)

    27" scale, 28" max

    :)

    don't care about the manufacturer or anything. The cheaper the better.

    Agile, Carvin, or a custom build.

    Those are your options for your required specs.

    I'd go with an Agile personally, I own an Interceptor 828 and I love it. The only difference between mine and the ones you're looking at are the pickups (I prefer passive).
    This one is really cheap for your specs, and it looks awesome (27" scale, EMGs, White)- Agile Septor Elite 827 EB EMG White - RondoMusic.com
    Here's one with a 28", and it's Green- Agile Interceptor 828 EB CA Tribal Green - RondoMusic.com

    If you just want to browse all of them, check out this page- Rondo Music Electric Guitars | Page 1 of 1
