I'm going to grain fill (1st time doing so) a mahogany body and was considering Aqua Coat water based filler. I have a can of SprayMax 2k for the top coat, but is this compatible with a water based grain filler?

I was under the impression that I would not need to add a sanding sealer to this process, but if there is the incompatibility issue, could a sanding sealer be used in between the filler and top coat to make everything hunky-dory?

Thanks for helping a noob :)

Did a similar thing on my last build - Aqua Coat filler with 2K/PU paintjob. I was also worried the PU might delaminate in the long run and used a layer of shellac as holding primer.

Cool. I may use shellac, need to research it a bit anyway. Thanks Lemon!

One important note: make sure you get wax free shellac flakes, the others will cause adhesion problems when used as a primer.
