I don't know what to tell you man. I know there are super small shops and one/two man operations that keep a tight ship. It's not rocket science.

It's the super popular, usually newer, flavor of the week builders who are the most susceptible to falling for the greed of a giant, cash up front waiting list.

There was a time when Vik could hardly give his stuff away on here, it just languished in the dealer section. Then BAM a couple of the "usual suspects" bought them and he saw dollar signs. He's not unique though, it's happened several times.

    I agree with you...
Talking about vik, He has had its rise and its fall..the request of guitars was higher than its production capacity but He went ahead (He made several run without the clear idea when they would be finished) ... this was his biggest mistake!...
but we have to say another things: others like him have made the suitcase and ran away... he did not give up!
Whit me has proved extreme professionalism: the guitar was delivered in terms(we talk about trascendence..not custom shop)

There are in fact some builders who do turn down orders after a certain number. That's not opinion, but fact.

Does anybody has some news from Vik?

The guys hasn't posted anything for months on FB and just seems to have disapeared with a big bunch if clients' deposits....

Has there been some guitar deliveries recently?!

He posted photos of guitars in progress less than a month ago.

Also, that's just how he runs his business. Taking money and then not actually delivering anything, except to the couple people who are close to him.

Is obvious that i was sarcastic! I know there are builders that turn down orders after a certain number and this is the correct way to do this business!
And i'm the first to admit that the Vik's Business was managed in the wrongest way!
Anyway i understand the feeling of who is wainting for over 24 months!
My experience was different but i think i was lucky!
To respond to Casper my guitar was delivered on march and from that date i think he has delivered only one duality ( he posted on fb the pic of the headstock koa/ebony).
The other pics ( galaxy with blue quilted top and caprice with that insane spalted top) are related to old custom projects...anyway my idea is that he is not following the queue posted on his forum
