would also like to add to the whole "basic" recording thing i mentioned in the OP, only thing i work with is Reaper (sorry, no Logic, no ProTools or anything else of that high-ended nature)
bit of a long shot, but if theres anyone who has great mixing/producing skills in Reaper, talk to me and bring in some samples

    Synther here?

I can't play anything extremely well, but I can play reasonably well, and have plenty of experience mucking around with MIDI systems - so long as it's just recording, I can do pretty much anything.

I'm also happy to help out with any other instrument (although i don't have the facilities to record drums) and also mixing, if needed.

My sister makes covers of Games we used to play when we were kids, she doesn't use this forum but if you wanted I could get her to look at what you want to play and ask her if she could arrange a track for you to add guitar too.

I've been planning on starting like this for a while.

I play most instruments and do a lot of arranging / composing. I'm starting to really get into mixing and producing as well and have a fair amount of gear to make this happen.

A sample mix of one of the ideas (kind of a bulby FF7 cover. was supposed to have a solo that I never got around to doing since I started reworking better sounding rhythm guitars to make it heavier, and blah blah blah).

I've already started arranging a lot of other tracks but haven't gotten to doing demos or final recordings yet.

Wouldn't mind doing some collaborations potentially..
