While I can appreciate the musicianship and the skill involved to play it, I find most prog a chore to listen to.

I like Rush, but even that took ages to get into.

I'd agree with that, a lot of prog is needlessly obtuse, especially older more ponderous stuff like King Crimson, Camel, etc. I'll add that 99% of the time I hate keyboard solos in prog songs.

I’m biased, but feel 80s King Crimson is worth checking out. Adrian Belew composed some stuff in an approachable verse-chorus format that’s still beyond what a lot of modern “guitarists’ guitarists” are attempting:

I think The Power to Believe is definitely the best of the modern-sound King Crimson. The chorus of Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With gets stuck in my head all the time. And now for the rest for the rest of today lol

I pretty much pretend that any of the 70s era king crimson music doesn't exist. I absolutely can't stand the Larks Tongue in Aspic album.
this is one of my favorite songs by them though.

I used to be way into ELP, Yes, King Crimson, Rush, Gryphon, etc. etc. I still have a lot of respect for those bands, but I hardly listen to any of it, although I have always wanted to do a cover of Trilogy with heavier guitars in place of synths.

For the love of god, what in the fuck is "Cardi B" and why are people making mental defectives famous?

Yeah, yeah, I know, "Oh, god. Not another rant from the Jim Cornette of Modern Music." I didn't know she wasn't until my friend said she's latin or some shit with an accent. This shit makes me want to get Kurt Cobain's shotgun for a cosplay.

The same person that told me it was an accent said they wondered where talent would be in 20 years. I said, "Talent in twenty years will be reciting the fucking ABCs to a beat. What talent?"

She got a booty tho. So. Yeah.

From a notable info point of view: Also the first Black female to hit #1 SOLO with no featured artists on Billboard since Lauryn Hill 19 years ago. (I think it’s solo on a debut album? Can’t remember)

But she got a booty tho.

I had to google Cardi B, cause I don't listen to that kind of stuff. It's garbage music to my ears (to each their own I guess) but I don't hear anything that makes me think "down syndrome".

Her accent makes her sound like she slightly qualifies for the special ed class.

I feel like the best kind of Prog is the kind you don't have to be a musician to appreciate.

Really, you could say that about most music, but Prog in particular has a problem of just being "music meant to impress other musicians," in a lot of instances.
