About a week ago I was talking with a good friend of mine about a 'new' music store in the area of where I moved to. He saw some sevens hanging there that he thought I should check out.

So last weekend I went to check out the place and he had indeed some Jackson 7's even. I ended up noodling on those for a bit and before I knew what happened I fell in love with the one who ticked all the wrong boxes for me. no floyd, I really dislike the 4+3 headstocks etc... but still I kept noodling on it because that neck was just absolutely awesome... He had a Rhoads 7 but I already have one of those and since I don't play live atm, there is no need for me to own a second one right now... though they are just amazing! But I could use one that is easier to live with than my kelly for songwriting and recording... fast forward to today, sold off my last kelly 7 and brought it home...

It's my second Jackson x series, and both are equally stunning to play... they really nailed it with these IMO.

Shitty photo-hosters be damned (photobucket and the like, not you op) I want to see it!
Congrats on your purchase, I really like Jackson’s mid-tier instruments. Enjoy!

HNGD man! Just got myself the SLAT7 FF (X-Series) and I think except for the width these necks are the same - and an absolute dream!

only had a brief run on a schecter jeff loomis. enough to know schacter is not for me ;) this one feels twice the guitar the jl was imo! way thinner neck and more solid feel. maple neck through with basswood wings. personally I like basswood's tone so won't hear me complain :) the fretboard leaves me in doubt. I have not researched this guitar at all, just was completely blown away by it from playing it in the shop. the fretboard appears to be either unfinished or satin finished. no idea if discontinued. thomann website showed it as available last time I checked ;)
