Wow good on them for getting a deal with Relapse - I saw them years ago and worried they would be consigned to the same fate as 8 Foot.

Man it seems like the NZ metal scene is breaking out of the south pacific box more now days.

I like it, never thought I'd see Ulcerate turn their sound "brighter" instead of "darker" though. I also hope every song doesn't have tons of reverb and distortion on the vocals because it isn't meshing really well with the rest

The music is good so far (Almost cried in the big atmospheric part of Yield to Naught) but damn are my ears getting shredded

First listen: Definitely like it more than Vermis, even Destroyers of All but EiF still probably can't be touched. Not ruling out that it might be a grower though.

Really digging them branching out more in a wierd, harrowing melodic vein.

    Not disappointed.

This is absolutely fantastic in every way. They've never disappointed and their sound is undeniably them, but they are always able to do enough to keep it interesting and not simply regurgitate the same record.

This is my first experience with Ulcerate, good album so far. Love how much it sounds like modern Gorguts :yesway:
