I wasn't sure where to post this... is it about pedals? Or, pickups?...

Saw this on my feed and I think it is awesome! It's a pickup enhancer that remodels your pickup without changing anything on your guitar. It turns your single coil into a humbucker sound and vice versa. You will have choices ranging from “Rockabilly” to “Bright Vintage” to “Hot Texas” and even "P90 soapbar," just to mention a few!

    What are your thoughts?

EHX Knockout can kinda do this too for almost 1/4 of the price. Looks pretty cool but $235 is pricey.

    No Midi = No party!!

Missed an absolute golden opportunity there. Incl Midi and I can automate the pedals pickup selection choices in time with my backing track/Axe FX patch switches and no longer have any on board controls to have to worry about.

Without it, I still have to manually select everything and have it on the floor in front of me (rather than in the rack with the Axe safe out of the way)

Seems like a cool unit but I don't want one. To me the point of having different guitars is that each inspire me to play a bit different things. I am not quite sure who is the intended audience of this device.

meh, I'd rather buy more guitars. It's like having an expanded color palette when painting, sure I can paint with just one or two colors, but it's nice to be able to use more than that. Or at least that's how I justify buying more pickups/guitars

After watching more videos it does seem pretty good. But like Lewis said, make a midi version 1 rack space and throw in a tuner and I'd buy it for $300.

    I'm interested in this.

I know everyone is mentioning midi, but i feel like this is more of a studio tool.

To me the tones were convincing enough that i don't need to spend money on another guitar.

But if its a studio tool, you probably have access to a few guitars. That then negates the use of the pedal more or less.

    Not in my "studio"

This is for people like me. Every guitar is an hh super strat.

Then half of them probably have coil splits haha.

Or you keep 1 or 2 and sell the rest for teles and lp's etc.

Or you get a hb sized p90 for one, coil tap another and now you're all set.

Well hey now, a coil tap is just a physical implementation of a shitty cop out to a single coil tone. Hard to argue for that over this box IMO.

Well... at least when you split your coils, you are still going to get the dynamics direct from your fingers into your amp. This box is just a glorified EQ box.

I agree. I'm always impressed by how much EQ matching can accomplish, but I don't see anything I'd personally want to use here. But that's because I think if you want strat tone or LP tone, you lose out on a lot of you're not using a true strat / true LP. I think most my guitars have splits but I've never found any to be decent, apart from a Fralin Unbucker I had a long time ago, but then that wasn't the greatest HB either.

If I find out my wife is behind this, I’m making a Shoe Exchanger, and I’m going to post a “Don’t buy a new pair of shoes! Use The Exchanger!” thread on her fashion forum. I know what she’s up to! This trickery won’t work on me, and I’m buying new guitars anyway! :shakes fist:

normal people who only have 1 maaaaybe 2 guitars. (more like "I havent been able to sell my old guitar after buying the new one")..... jsut regular folks out there, not us GAS driven folks

but mainly for live cover bands. Which they are A LOT of them, and msot of the time they only have one guitar to take to a gig
