Nope, we are still waiting to hear (and without saying, receive) anything and no attempts to contact him result in a response. I did see on his FB that he just sold his house and the ex-wife is moving away, so maybe there is still a chance for something?

Why do Darren's customers always say things like this?

For anyone who's been following along, It should come as no surprise to learn that Decibel Guitars has an exemplary record when it comes to making poor decisions where customers relations are concerned. * Fixed that for you

Seriously though, you all need to seek a refund immediately. What Darren is doing is criminal and honestly disgusting. He clearly doesnt give a .... about any of his customers or his reputation as a builder. I would be shocked if he even posted on his businesses facebook again.

Has anyone tried to sue? If not, statute of limitations coming up? Could he be in the clear because his customers are too forgiving?

People are WAY too forgiving, if you can stand to lose a couple hundred/thousand then keep doing what you're doing. If you're not hopelessly enthusiastic, then act soon if you can even salvage anything.

Noooo way. Is he that oblivious? Dude has like 1 satisfied customer, and he probably got the guitar for free/near-free. United is bad, but still delivers 95+% of the time.

Honestly we're pretty far past that point, Ive been telling other decibel customers for literal years now to get a refund and hire a lawyer. Darren is NOT changing and they will most likely never see their instrument or money again.

If he had intent on continuing his business or doing right by his supporters he would have finished their builds years ago.

That really sucks to hear nothing has changed :noplease:

Wasnt there some talk of customers joining together to get something happening legally? I hope you guys are still pursuing that.

Decibel instagram hasn't been updated for 20 weeks. I don't know, I think it's worth compiling a list in public of who has how much in on Decibel so that the scope of the problem is easily understood. Post it around Facebook, etc., until he has to directly address what's being done to remedy the situation (realistically). He's still facebook masquerading around like a luthier.

    Decibel Guitars
    11 mins ·
    Greetings, fans and customers!
Refunds have been processed for everyone who’s requested one.
I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and have endured a lot of hardship over the last few years, digging myself into a hole I was not equipped to get myself out of until now. I’m doing my best to try and make things right.
I’m doing a “reboot” on Decibel Guitars, going back to basics and building one guitar at a time, and selling them when they’re done. This is what my original plan was, but I succumbed to pressure and tried to grow too quickly.
I’ll be doing some comment clean-up now that the loose ends are being tied up, and starting things fresh.
Decibel lives to fight another day. I hope you’ll keep following.
    darren.

Why reboot when the name has been dragged this far down?

Quit while you're behind if nothing else.

At least if he keeps the decibel name, people will know to avoid it?

If he changed names, some people might not realize what they're walking into

To be fair, if he has refunded all outstanding depts and wants to start "Fresh" that seems ok to me...as long as he sticks to his plan of build first/sell when finished.

I do agree there will probably be a bit of a stigma associated with the brand but if he still wants to build and sell guitars under the Decibel name good for him... But I wouldnt buy one till he has at least a few years of good solid reliable building under his belt again and I imagine many potential customers will feel the same.

If nothing else I am glad that it sounds like all the people that were out $$ have/will finally get refunded.

Well, I see at least a couple people in the FB comments saying that they still want one so he's not that crazy.
