The first few seconds of Mercy had me in terror.
I love how they have progressed in a natural way through the albums. Try don't have a bad song in them

I've been a fan of them since Conclusion of an Age. I have also seen them live with Killswitch Engage and they were phenomenal. (More so because they played after some horrendous metalcore band.) The new song sounds amazing. I have also pre-ordered their upcoming album.

I just realized I had a few of their songs a long time on my very first MP3 player. Some of the Conclusion of an Age stuff, I'm glad I rediscovered them recently since I guess I wasn't as into the screaming style of vocals back then.

That new single is awesome, excited for their new album.

Damn I don´t understand how I didn´t find this with the search. Sorry for opening another thread on the new album.

Like I said on the other post, for me this and the new Revocation might be the last minute surprises of the year. I love both bands but I didm´t expect this vibe. Especially for this single the hook is so strong. Horse riding riff galloping in the most classic sense but with that amazing verse that´s half sung and screamed. I just can´t get over how they even made the breakdown a cool thing again not to mention the impressive lead work they always have.

How do six strings sound so crushing! Is it still standard tuning? Strongest Rhythm players.

PD: Thanks chopeth for pointing out the double post. Now we can all have fun over here :D

I love this band. The first time I heard them I could have sworn they were playing in B, or lower. It's crazy how they can make E standard sound heavier than 90% of bands that use 8 strings for the sole purpose of sounding heavy  For real though, I have to get back into this band.

Dormant Heart is a seriously amazing album. Sylosis just keeps getting better.

I'm always impressed with how heavy and modern they sound, even though they're tuned to standard/A440.

It's not my favourite album of theirs (it's early days) but they could record an album on an iPhone with a 2 string Squier and still be better than 99% of metal I've heard

Yeah I'm probably just gonna buy all of them anyways. :hbang: And man, found Josh Middleton's YouTube page last night, what a killer dude uploading all the tutorials, tips, insider info, etc. I really appreciate the guitarists that do this kind of thing.

For me their best album was their first main album "Conclusion of an Age" THE best melodic death/thrash/metal album ever imo. Its seriously just that good. A TOTAL masterpiece.

Then Jamie Graham (The original vocalist for the band and the guy on said album), left and Josh stepped in to do both guitar and vocals, they released their second album "Edge of the Earth" which was totally awesome considering the situation (Not AS good but still pretty damn sweeeeet).

Then Monolith, which was their 3rd album, was recorded and produced with a different guy from the first 2 (Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, UK did their first 2) they went to Wales to do it and it was odd tbh. Totally different sound than what we were used to. The production/mixing was totally different and it was like some sort of "Gentleman's" metal ala Mastodon.

The latest you obviously know, they went back to using Scott to produce/mix and the results were way better.

Sidenote: The original vocalist Jamie Graham (Who is phenomenal) is now the vocalist for Heart of a Coward

F*cking love it. Getting a real Death vibe from it actually.

They're one of the best metal bands out there.
