This pushes a lot of my buttons!

Also, $400 is a whole lot less than an Echorec and an Echoplex.

I watched the official demo for this earlier today. My Timeline and DD-20 have me more than covered for delays, but that video still gave me some GAS

Maybe people will start dumping their El Cap pedals for cheap and I'll just get in on one of those

I fear for the day I buy my first Strymon. Seems like a deep and expensive hole to fall into
    But the GAS is real!

    :agreed:

I had a day of no self control when they announced this. Checks so many boxes for delays for me. Will report back once pre-order comes in

I tried a bigsky today and I want one very badly now to go with my Strymon DIG. It’s almost 500 bucks tho so I dunno how soon that’s gonna happen lol.

Watched every video twice now. So many cool sounds in there.

I was recently shopping for a space echo -- I think I'm still sort of stuck having to buy one because without it I can't A/B to establish how close the Strymon is going to get to that sound. But hopefully it can at least drive those prices down some! If anyone sees a head-to-head 201 vs volante, please post it up.

It will be interesting to see how it fares, I have an Ep-2, Ep-3 and Re-301, and none of my pedal delays sound like them. I love pedal delays in their own right, but there is something about the real tape echo that's just special, it's almost like a different kind of effect.

Agreed. I mean, there is the preamp circuit in most of the large tape units also coloring the tone a lot -- so I kind of wonder if one of the better tape sims + appropriate preamp would get there. I'm not convinced it would, but I haven't seen that comparison before...probably already a TPS episode about it somewhere :D

Nah it's not just that, though that is an aspect, which is why I prefer the Ep-2 to the Ep-3. There's just something about how the tape actually reacts in those units.

I'm in a constant state of almost splurging on an RE-201 as Soundgas always seem to have one or two in stock fully serviced and ready to go, but it's the maintenance aspect that puts me off.

That and that episode of TPS where they have one of the Fulltone tape echoes on and they can't actually use it because it's too humid and has made the tape go funny.

I really hate Strymon. Every time they release something new I immediately want it.

The only pedal that didn't work for me was the DIG...i think i just used it incorrectly though :wallbash:

I think that's going to turn out to be an expensive namedrop for me...I just tripled the amount of tape echos I thought existed.

Order status just changed to 'shipped'. They're moving really fast with these. Wonder how many in total were pre-ordered
