Lately I've been struggling with doing large string skips consistently and I don't know why. (more than 2-3 strings etc.)
    Basically something like
    ------7---------8--------5
    ----------------------------
    ---------------------------
    --6-------6--------6------

Or something that is only across 2 strings at a time but taken further across more
    --10----------------11--------------------------
    ----------------------------------------12-------
    ---------9----------------9----------------------
    ----------------------------------------------9---
    ---------------8-----------------8----------------8
These aren't exact examples but you get the point.

Of course slowing them down and speeding them up just like everything else you learn is a given but is there something else I could do? Also you're probably saying "hybrid pick/pluck them duhhh" but in the context of what I'm doing, picking gives a whole different sound and I want to learn to do this strictly picking anyway. Any advice?

If there are only 2 notes use inside picking with an accentuated lift after moving through the string. The multi note stuff needs crosspicked like Steve Morse.
