hi I just bought my first 7 string it's an agile and I'm not sure the scale length but I can measure it when i get home.

I'm looking for a string set, or gauges to look for that will let me lower the tuning with out going all flabby on me, I
attempted to lower it down two steps and play some songs I know that happen to be in c for a 6 string and it sounded awful the strings where way to loose.

I just buy the EB 10-74 8 string pack and toss out the .064. I use that for A standard/drop G tuning. When we play quick sets under 45 minutes and I have to play songs from our 6 string drop C set and our 7 string songs, I just take my 7 and drop the bottom 2 accordingly instead of switching guitars. That's if your guitar is 25.5. If you're on 27" scale you can get away with the .064 for the A.
