    Hey

I just have recived Schecter Demon 7 CRB few days ago, i have changed after 3 days string to Daddario NYXL 9,5-44+60 . I have set up action at 12 Th fret from lowest 7 string to 3 mm and highest e string to 2 mm. Going lower than 3 mm gives me buzz first three fretes. I guess it is limit or maybe guitar tech could make it lower? I have slight bow with neck like it should be. Its Tune O Matic Bridge. Guitar is tuned half step to Bb Standard

    Whats your action ?

Your action seems pretty high to me. Buzz on the first few frets usually indicates not enough neck relief.
Use a capo to fret the first fret and your finger to fret the last fret of your b string. Then use a piece of your .012 gauge string (or what was the second string in your set?) to measure the distance between the fretted string and the ninth fret. The .012 gauge string should fit well between.
That would be my starting point.
I usually adjust action at the 17th fret to about 1.5 mm on treble side and with that .060 string, about 2.2 mm.
A little buzz is ok depending on how hard you pick.
What is also important is how high the nut is. If the strings are sitting to high on the nut, it will hardly be possible to get a decent setup

Thank you sir, i noticed that neck was a bit too striaght. Now works fine, did it right. Your advice helped me . At 12 th fret of lowest 7 string i got 2 mm and at 12 fret of highest e string i have 1,5 mm :)

However i dotn consider 3 mm action to be high, rather medium. Guitar came with action of 5-7 mm few days ago

2 mm sounds insanely low to me...I have all of my guitars at 4mm with the low string at 5mm. I have my guitars all leveled and dressed and cant get much lower than 3mm without some buzz. Relief set at .010'. For strings, I use gauge 10's for 25.5 scale at standard pitch, 11's for 24.75 scale at standard pitch, and then go up a gauge for every step dropped.

You are welcome. 1,5 and 2mm sound much better to me now :)

Mguilherme87, at which fret do you measure these distances?
Well acutally no matter where, they sound huge to me.

I would not not call mine insanely low. Just for reference, check out jackson or esp manuals or "ibanez rules" for setup tipps. After reading these i would call mine medium ;)

Again, a bit of buzz is ok, for most of us at least. All a matter of technique.
But to each their own i guess :)

Have both of you checked the height of the nut?

I measure at the 12th fret. However, I was slightly wrong earlier. I don't have the strings at 4mm, I have them at 4/64ths at the 12th fret.

I tend to have the action higher on my trem'd guitars to get some more range out of pull ups.

xD I was so mistaken. For some reason I thought 1/64 = 1mm. Then I sat back and thought about it for a second xD

Weird thing with intonation, my lowest string B note goes a bit flat and Sharp at 12 th fret. However its eexactly shows B3 note at 24 th fret. Rest of the strings intonate fine. Maybe action is too low and buzz makes unclear sound ???

I usually keep everything at 3/64ths, except the low b. I jack that one up till it is clear up and down the fretboard when I slam it with the pick. Bout 5 or 6/64ths.

4mm at 12th fret? Would be totally unplayable for me... My Solar has about 1,25mm at highest string and 1,5mm on the low side. It's quite low and little bit of fret buzz doesn't concern me. But it's a six string and lower gauge strings need more space to move when you have seven or eight with thicker strings.

I quote myself because the other day I met a guy who told me my guitar action was too high for him! He said he would like his guitar lower. I think I'm in a medium-low setting, I know I can be lower, but don't feel the need to... but I was astonished about the security the guy showed claiming my setup was to high for standards

I started at 4/64 at the 17th fret, but keep moving it a little higher. Don't know what that gives me at the 12th.
