    Okay, here's the scenario:

You're doing something while listening to music on shuffle/random. It could be anything, really. Housework, office work, homework, the neighbor's wife, building ships in a bottle, whatever. Then out of the blue, a song comes on that you can't help but drop whatever it was you were doing so you can hang on every note.

I'm sure you all know exactly what I mean. Well, what songs do that to you fellers? Feel free to post as many as you want, because I'm sure there's more than just one for each of you.

I'll start with just one, because it's the song that came on and inspired this thread. I was just settling down to play Skyrim when the song came on, and you know I like a song when it keeps me from playing an Elder Scrolls game. As soon as the singing kicks in, I just can't help myself but to pay attention.

    Have at it.

I remember hearing Johnny Cash's version of Hurt for the first time on the radio. Couldn't drop everything as I was driving, but I even remember where I was when I hear it. Really, really hit me that did.

I'd have to say these two.

The second one because it changed my views on bass playing and helped me discover so many great bands. My jaw broke the floor when I heard it the first time.

Very few songs stop me on my tracks, but this is definately one.

Also Boston Rain Melody by Steve Vai, but mostly because of the context in which I heard it once, and the memories it evokes.

If by "drop whatever you're doing" you mean "air guitar like a motherfucker" then this song usually does the trick.
