    Hey dudes,

Been a bit quiet on here lately, but just recently finished a cover of one of my favorite songs from one of my all-time favorite bands.

    https://soundcloud.com/brian-wright-1/we-only-come-out-at-night-smashing-pumpkins-cover

It's pretty simple...not too much going on. The little "lead" part was recorded using my Jackson Dinky 7-string so there's the relevance to this forum ;) granted it was on the high g and b strings....

Let me know what you guys think! any other Pumpkins fans still kicking around out there?

Huge Pumpkins fan and I never thought I'd ever see anyone cover this song. Awesome change from the original, good job!

    Why thank you sir!

Pumpkins is one of those bands whose "hits" were just the tip of the iceberg of greatness. There are so many gems on every album, it's almost too much. This song is such a simple one and gets so easily overlooked (I've been guilty of skipping this one in the past) but when you really listen to it, it's just incredible. Same goes for "Sweet, sweet" off of Siamese Dream.

Truth is, there's like 20 Pumpkins songs I want to cover, haha.

    Thanks for listening!

Thanks man! That's one of the ones I'd love to do but actually BTBAM did it already ;)

Yeah check out their cover album "The Anatomy Of". Some incredible covers on there and a cool insight into some of their influences as well. :D

EDIT: And of course check out everything else of theirs...

    cool

I really think that double album is really underrated by many . there's maybe a couple filler tracks but there are a ton of great ones

Definitely, some of my favorites were on that album. Muzzle, Bodies, To Forgive, Thru the Eyes of Ruby are really good songs.

    Thank you kindly!
Agreed, such an incredible body of work. As far as composers go, Billy Corgan is absolutely one of my favorites. The guy is a machine.
    A. Awesome avatar pic.
    B. Holy crap you practically listed my favorite songs from that album in order!

it's funny, my friend loved the first 2 albums and never bothered the 3rd album, because he never liked the radio singles. I was playing these one day on my Pumpkins playlist and he was couldn't believe they were on the same album.
