New album from Britain's greatest Slug-based Death Metal band:

For me, there is now no question that we're dealing with an absolute top-tier DM band here and not just a gimmicky slug thing. Maybe the last album should have been enough to dismiss that thought anyway, but I'm convinced now for sure.

Sam Dunn compared them favorably to Gojira in his review. I don't know about all that, but they sound pretty cool.

If there's one death metal band that I hope makes it huge this year its Slugdge. Those dudes are writing some of the heaviest riffs in metal with a really unique theme, I mean listen to the riff that starts around 3:10 in Pod Hates Us All and tell me thats not one of the heaviest things you've ever heard. Born of Slime, Gastronomicon and Esoteric Malacology are all fantastic albums, easily among my favorite albums. Dim and Slimeridden Kingdoms was alright but I don't remember too much sticking out to me, maybe I just need to listen to it again.

Sorry I'm talking about the trem riff that happens at 3:36, I forgot where it was at in the song.

Yup, it's my favorite so far this year. Never heard of them until this album, and it blew me away.

Right! I've turned so many of my friends on to this one and they are just blown away. I liked their last album, but this is a whole new level!!

I've been going through their back catalog as well and I'm really digging it. Hits that sweet spot of death metal that is technical but isn't overly "techy." Even has some slower bits that are (appropriately) sludgy.

I had seen the name, but never really clicked it till this morning after a friend turned me onto one of their recent interviews. I think they might be a new favorite. This has literally everything amazing in it. Fucking killer.

On my third round with Esoteric today. I can see this. Not always, but Crop Killer is the most Gojira song not written by Gojira to date:

Didn't really watch the Banger review, but a friend did. He kept harping on me to give it a listen...and so glad I did. Easily the best metal album, IMO, so far this year.

I've found it hard to get into any new bands for years, to the point where i just accepted i'm set in my ways, but i absolutely loved this instantly.

I love how quirky/eccentric their overall theme is as well :)

I had never heard of these guys before they signed with Willowtip and I am so glad they did. Awesome record, to put it bluntly.

A masterful concoction of little aesthetics from across the metalboard. The riffs are f*cking insane, at times almost too insane. "War Squids", "Slave Goo World" and "Limo Vincit Omnia" are the best of the bunch. Definitely in my top10 as the year concludes. Thanks to anyone who brought this up and lots of love for the band from Finland! :)

Is this like gory blister or pitbulls in the nursery where the name is kind of  but the music is good
