KM-II #2 complete. Full gallery shoot coming soon...
Oh dear lord that's awesome!
I've found my new favourite fretboard wood - Makore (aka African Cherry) - it works great against that Wenge (and any other dark wood) top, don't you think?
As mentioned before, this one will be going out without pickups... More info as soon as I've sorted out the full details.
Black Walnut KM-II 7-string Custom complete. The obligatory gallery shoot will be coming soon...
That one looks sweet too! Makore definitely makes a nice fretboard. As much as I like ebony it offers a nice contrast to the uniform blackness on other guitars. It looks like super tasty rosewood, in a good way.
Thank you sir.
Exactly, it's got a nice fiery red colour in it so a nice figured Makore board could also be an alternative to Bubinga now the new CITES restrictions are in place.
both those builds turned out great...
Thank you M3CHK1LLA.
Moving on to the next three today... No rest for the wicked
No rest for the wicked indeed! Are these next ones stock builds or custom orders?
There's two custom builds (6-string KM-I Wenge carve-top and 8-string V multiscale) and one stock build (KM-I Wenge body... very heavy!).
Busy weekend! Two builds complete and over 200 photos shot for the website. I'll only be using six for each build... And here's a few of the KM-II #2 build (more on the website soon along with the Black Walnut Custom KM-II photos)...
This working prototype/showcase guitar is now available, please read the description re. pickups, etc - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172496159331
Saved in my watchlist!
And to end this marathon, a few of the Black Walnut 7-string Custom KM-II build. Additional pics will be loaded to the website gallery soon... I have to go and code them all in now!
Following the recent completion of the KM-I #2 and Black Walnut 7-string Custom KM-II, it's back to the bench for a batch of new builds. These include a Wenge Carve-top Custom KM-I with Maple/Purpleheart neck...
... Another Black Walnut Custom KM-II (6-string this time), Custom 8-string V with multiscale fretboard and this; the last KM-I build in our latest stock batch - wouldn't a set of zebra coils look good in it?

Been a bit quiet on the "social media" front the past week or so, but I've been getting started on a couple of new builds. Photographed today, three stages of neck construction (left to right); Maple/Black Walnut neck and quartersawn Cocobolo fretboard blanks, Maple/Black Walnut neck w/ Makore fretboard (now glued on) and Maple/Purpleheart neck w/ Ebony fretboard...
That purple heart looks fantastic, well they all do!
Thanks, I will renew asap, just waiting for the pound vs dollar to improve as it'll cost me (UK based) 25% more than a US-based vendor would pay
Now on a new thread for Kemp Guitars - http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/showthread.php?t=320239
