Hi, I have a Schecter Hellraiser C-7 and I've been purchasing D'Addario XL Nickel Wound Regular Light/7-Strings for my guitar. The strings range from:
    .010
    .013
    .017
    .026
    .036
    .046
    .059

However, I am not pleased with them. I get a kind of buzzing sound on my higher strings on the 12+ frets and the low strings are not tight enough for me.
I want to get new strings, what kind of strings would you suggest getting for the Hellraiser? I found a site where I can get custom sets(Naked Strings), but for the lowest string they jump from .060 to .070. I'm not sure if .070 will fit in the guitar to begin with. I also like to play from B standard down to Drop Ab and all tunings in between. Will .070 be able to tune to A, or will it only reach around G? I play metal and play a lot of cleans as well.

I was thinking of getting strings of this gauge:
    .0115-.012
    .014
    .018
    .032
    .042
    .054
and the last one either .062 or maybe .064.

Like I said earlier .070 is a pretty big jump from .060, which is the next option given at Naked Strings. Anyone know of any sets similar to what I just listed or another site to order strings with more variety?

I also plan on getting my guitar fixed up for the strings as well, but I need a little input from more experienced guitarists about the strings.

    Hellraiser C-7 Neck Specs:
    Width at Nut-48mm
Width at Last Fret- 68mm (24th fret)
    Thickness at 1st Fret- 20mm
    Thickness at 12th Fret- 22mm
    Radius 406mm/16"

    When I had my 7 I was a little crazy (Schecter Omen 7 26.5")

    I used 11-64 or sometimes a 66 for B.
She never buzzed, and if it's buzzing check your truss rod first. An Adjustment can fix that but go minor on the adjustments.

I have a C-7 as well, currently I'm in Ab with a 65 and it's too floppy for my taste. 65 is pretty good for A.

Some people go pretty nuts and use much thicker strings, it's all about preference.

I see, my only fear is that .070 is too thick to even fit in the guitar at the tuner or nut or too tight to tune to A. Where did you guys get 65 gauge?

    I bought a set of DR strings, 13-65. It's a 6 string set so I added a single 10 and we're good. :hbang:

I use a set .11's for my first 6 and have a .63 for my lowest string. Since yours has a slightly extended scale, a .65 should do.

Stringsbymail.com is cheaper and you can buy single strings, instead of 3 at a time.

I use ernie ball 48-11 + 64 on top on my LTD MH 417 In drop G# and I get a little bit of buzz, but in Drop A it's not too bad
I don't mind my 7 string a little floppy though, because when I really rake the top strings in grooves it goes slightly out of tune really quickly from hitting it so hard. I enjoy it haha
