    Hey guys! :wavey:
I have a Purple one of these Rarities but have always wondered where I can find the specs and details? (material, Pickups, Radius etc.)
I have been searching through this forum, but couldn't find any mention about these.

(If it's here somewhere and it's just me who is a n00b at searching I apologize)

It's just an RG1077XL with different aesthetics.

So maple neck, rosewood fretboard, basswood body, Lo-Pro Edge 7 trem, 27" scale, 430mm radii, 48mm nut.

    Can you read German?

Just like any "classic" basswood RG out there, but with 27" and glowing in dark dots and binding. Rare, but there is actually nothing to justify it's crazy out-of-nowhere price. Unless you're after a nice long-scale guitar, not a collection piece, which i doubt it is.

Don't want to justify mine , but it is an excelent guitar , awesome (pre-prestige ? ) finish / fretwork ; it indeed was an introduction model to the 1077XL , it had to be good ..., and collectable ? well ... there aren't to many made , and left ;)

and Max , that is probably the only written piece of 'evidence' about them ; been searching for stuff about these for a while myself too

any chance we could get a german speaking boarder to decipher it for us? I just ran into one and want to see how its neck compares to a 1077xl's neck. i know its a 5 piece instead of a three piece so thats one difference, but wanted to know any others...

I just translated the spec sheet because it's the only thing I consider important :

    Made in Japan
Solid Body Electric Baritone Guitar, 7 strings
    690mm scale (that's like 27.15" scale)
multi-ply 2-piece maple neck with walnut stringers, bolt-on, rosewood fretboard, 24 Jumbo frets
neck shape : flat D profile
    nut width 48.75mm, 12th fret width : 60.75mm
    neck thickness 1st fret 18.8mmn 5th fret 19.75mm, 12th fret 21.05mm
    basswood body
solid color (greyish blue) body finish, satin neck finish
    pickups : HSH dimarzio
controls : 5-way blade pickup switch, master volume, master tone
    Lo Pro Edge 7 bridge
    cosmo black hardware
closed tuning machines, 16:1 gear ratio
    "Saitenlage" = string action
    weight : 3.95 kg
    fluorescent Binding and inlays

If you want me to, I can translate the actual article (I consider most of it to be sales pitch, but eh, I can translate it if someone wants me to)

^I'd translate the finish but to "Body: Blue-grey-metallic, neck: Satin finish". The 7680 had some sort of 3D-looking metallic paintjob. It looks like the German translators weren't too thorough, or working from a wrong original, because that neck is 5-piece, not 2-piece.

yeah honestly I didn't give a damn about finding a good translation for the finish. just look at the picture

I thought the only necessary translations were the technical terms.

It´s a nice guitar. I once played a friends 7680 fixed bridge some years ago. Plays pretty much the same like my 1077xl. The color is a little bit different.
I also liked the glow in the dark binding and dots.

3rd from left RG 1077xl, fourth RG7680 fixed bridge. ( btw:These are not all my guitars. K-7 and KxK are sold. I just try to buy the K-7 back right now :D )
