its like a better spec'd out 8 string version of the Alex Wade LTD signature 7 string. Looks nicer as a tele too imo.

I had a MK patriot black LP limited edition in high black gloss years ago in my first band. I toured that guitar and played Bloodstock festival in the UK with that guitar too and never.......ever....took spare guitars. It was absolutely amazing. Build quality was crazy and it sounded brilliant through a live mix and on record. Once I wax potted the stock Fatass pickups the thing never once let me down. I played the hell out of that and exclusively that for at least 4 years straight in that band and it never even got chipped/scratched in anywhere that was visible.

Unreal. Makes a complete mockery over BC Rich tbh.

With these Specs, and that sort of reliability from this company, this 8 string model is a total steal at this price.
I no longer have any need for another 8 string given my fanned fret 8 string that is getting mods is well underway, but If I did....I think I would have already impulse ordered this.

EDIT: If the fretboard was Ebony and it was a neck through....I probably would have just bought it anyway... haha

I'll be sure to get a video up for you guys going over the build quality and a little playthrough, as i couldn't find anything but the short little NAMM vids of old dudes playing muddied up guitar store blues on them.

Awesome, I actually have been looking at these for a while but literally *no one* here knows anything about them. Would love to hear your input. I've played a few Michael Kelly models and they're...ok, so I'm wondering how this is.

I'm a little partial to the 508 model, dat natural wood stain really gets me going.

I can't wait to start modding this thing, any ideas? Im thinking of doing the fretboard dye stuff that the rg8 modders use to blacken out the inlays. Maybe a different color pick guard and some new pickups down the line when i get the money

How about that, I actually have guitar.

I can't complain. It's a lot of guitar for the money. The pickups are sub-par, but that's to be expected, really. Fit and finish is really good, fret work was all fine. Action was set a little high for me, but I put heavier strings on it and tuned it a step down, so I had to set it up regardless.

Neck is fairly thin and flat.

If you've got any specific questions, I can attempt to answer them.

Holy moley! That's awesome. My experience w/ MK Guitars is that they pile on the glossy finish. How's the finish on the neck and body?

Neck is bare, or coated with something that feels like smooth wood, with zero shine. Body isn't covered in a mile of lacquer. Either a thin layer of lacquer, or clear coat. I don't know the difference. I tried to take pictures at angles that would show what I'm trying to say, but I'm as poor a photographer as I am a guitarist.

This guitar was built in Korea, but I have no idea where the 508X ones are made, so I can't speak to their quality. I'm tickled shitless with this one, though. It's everything I wanted in an 8 string (besides the pickups), for a decent price. I'll eventually end up buying another guitar or two from them. Probably a Patriot and 6 string Tele.

...I should like a shill...but the pickups really do suck.

Man i can't wait to get my hands on this thing :wub3::wub3::wub3:
Could you compare the neck shape to any other popular guitars you might have? Im worried it might be a little thicker then im used to being a tele style and all, but then again from the pics it looks pretty comfy
