I'm normally a mediocre metal player but a while ago I got myself an Ibanez Talman to try to expand my repertoire and play some other kinds of music. I learned a few Strokes songs and those were fun, but so much of what I normally listen to just doesn't work on single coil that I always find myself at a loss for new stuff to learn on it.

    So let 'em rip!

    Little Creatures... great album!

OP... try some Smiths, or learn a few Andy Timmons licks.

Like blues? SRV and/or Hendrix have amazing styles.

Learn Guitars, Cadillacs by Dwight Yoakam. One of the coolest solos to play and just a fun song all around. I combine the blues based acoustic riff with the second guitar part. It’ll challenge you in ways you never thought. I gained a lot of admiration for country players after figuring out this tune.

Just because the guitar has a single coil doesn't mean it limits what bands you can learn songs by

That being said, Maylene and the sons of disaster :yesway:

+1 on Maylene, especially stuff from II and III. Can't stop and under the bridge are fun songs to play from the chili peppers. Deep Purple songs beside smoke on the water. Some Waylon Jennings won't hurt either.
