hi there. Studying chord melody right now, and I really liked some piano jazz I listened in YT. But since it was a generic "jazz piano collection", I coudn't discover the players. So, if anyone can recommend me some nice piano players, I would be glad :hbang:

There are a number of "classic" players you might investigate: Oscar Peterson, Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock. Some notable newer players would include: Brad Mehldau, Vijay Iyer, Craig Taborn.

Dave Brubeck was absolutely the gateway for me into the world of jazz piano. Also I find his manipulation of time signatures fascinating. Brubeck has a series of albums, with each composition featuring a different time signature(s).

Bluette (in 3/4), from Time Further Out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX6CRLt6CLE

If your looking for more classic jazz players than any of the above mentions are absolutely essential (Duke Ellington, Hancock, Evans, Monk, ect).

If you are looking for something a bit more "out-there", then there is no better time to mention Hiromi Uehara. Hiromi is one of my all time favorite musicians and I strongly advise any musician to dive into her music.

Delusion, from The Trio Project's Move: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaUXECuclGA

There is even a live album of her preforming the famous jazz fusion album Duet with the original composer Chick Corea. Definitely worth a listen!

Hopefully this post has been some help to you, Mvotre!
