So, I've got myself an LTD EC-1000T/CTM, which is essentially a Les Paul sonically.

yes or no on Ragnaroks? I'm a bit hesitant, I think they might be a tad too dark for this guitar, but something with a bit more "thud" and roar than an 81 is definitely what I'm after.

    If not rags, what BKPs?

    C# standard, Engl Savage 120.

I somehow don't think BWs, which are in my experience quite bright, are quite what I'm looking for.

Thud and roar sounds like the guitarmory polaris or the bkp blackhawks.

What's wrong with the tone it has now?

If your answer is "nothing" then pocket your cash.

EMGs do clip internally if you pick hard, especially at 9V.

But anyway, they're still not doing what I want tonally, regardless.

I think only one guy on here, other than Bulb, has a set of ragnaroks. I'm not sure you're going to find many people on here who've had a hands-on experience with these pickups. That said, we love guinea pigs here so I say go for it, give them a shot and let us know what you think.

I installed a set in my agile baritone LP, but they sound weak as hell right now. I think i have a defective set or something, been trying to troubleshoot them with bkp support. I'll let you know how they sound once i fix the problems/replace em
