yeah I guess compact is better than some of the ridiculously large bass headstocks with the biggest tuning keys I've ever seen *cough* ibanez talman basses *cough*

Yeah, Ebony. Unless there’s a lot of character, I just don’t like rosewood, so I was super excited to see Skip chose Ebony for these.

Unique with a function, yet not over the top, sweet bass as far as I'm concerned!

Yeah, I'll upload them again. Buuuuuut - I'll put some new ones up as well, because it's DONE! I just got off the phone with Skip. It'll ship this week. He's taking some photos of the finished instrument tomorrow or Monday, and I'll have those for you guys. I can't wait. This is easily going to be my lowest tuning instrument, at C#0. That's 17 Hz. The wavelength is 65 feet. I'm excited for 3 reasons: 1) It's a pink to purple burst. 2) It's 5 notes lower than anything I've ever played. 3) I can't wait for everyone to tell me I won't be able to hear it anyway.

You want be able to hear it!!!!:fever::fever::fever:

    Just joking.
It would be easy to record on good quality with di or interface those low notes with open strings and a few bass lines so we can hear it?
I wan to hear this F# from a jazz bass.

    BTW pretty headstock.
It is angled like most basses ot scalooped like fenders? I like more the scalooped

    PS. gauge from C#0 ?
Is .254? Is it tight enough?

I should have it in the next couple of days. I’m not sure what string is on it for that C#0. I didn’t even ask, because I was literally getting the strings from the authority on long scale class strings. But, I’m quite sure it isn’t all that thick. Skip has tuned a Quake to G#00 before, and he said in that circumstance even the thickest string he makes was not at an ideal tension. So C# should be way thinner. I’ll let you know, though. When it arrives. (And I’ll get info on the HS as well.)
