So I put an Seymour Duncan Black Winter in the bridge position of a PRS SE Singlecut I got a while ago, and it sounds good. Wiring was initially weird as the SD is 4 conductor, but the original pickups were 2 conductor. The problem I’m facing is that the neck pickup now sounds weak and has lower output then the bridge. I get kind of a quacky sound as well, in both the neck and middle positions. Not sure if it could be a microphonic cover, a short in the wiring, or perhaps something internal being broken in the pickup.

I recorded some clips (three riffs, bridge neck middle for each.) If anyone could take a listen and let me know, that’d be great. Thanks all!

Maybe it's being split. Some detailed pics of the inside would be helpful for attempting to diagnose your issue. I couldn't determine anything for 100% certain from the clip.

This! A pick inside the cavity could help.
