So on the 29th of January, me and a few friends, one of which runs Metalwaspmedia.com, got permission and photo passes from Protest The Hero and the Rescue Rooms venue in Nottingham to shoot some footage.

The footage has been edited into a series of "Live" music videos with the original album audio.

    Here is the first :)

Let me know what you think!
The rest will follow over the next few days. I think Bone Marrow is next!

    :metal:

(Edit: Woo we found a good audio source! The rest will have live audio)

if the drummer is not playing on a click and you didn't edit the tempo they are pretty fucking good at staying on tempo, damn.

Yeah they are good at staying on tempo, i'm not sure about the click etc.

We'll put the new songs up when they actually come out, so you'll have a live "Music video" for 3 songs pretty much on release day hopefully.

    :squint: WHY?! :(

EDIT: I'm assuming you weren't able to get decent audio. If that's false then my previous question stands.

That's the studio audio you're hearing.

Yeah even though we tested the audio on the first band and it turned out fine, for some reason we got loads of clipping for protest and it wouldn't be of any use for these videos.

Does anybody know what guitar Tim is playing? I guess he's not with Caparison anymore (don't know if he ever officially endorsed them)?

I heard in a video interview that the rhythm section is usually pretty stoned. I can confirm this is true when I ran into them before their set when they toured with Unearth a few years ago. Maybe that helps?

Yes, but the video syncs up pretty perfectly, that's my point. The tempo is very much the same as the studio version, which means that either dude is playing to a click track or they are really well rehearsed.

Most bands tend to speed up stuff live just because of the adrenaline that comes with a live performance. I know I do.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the drummer was playing to a click. It's a good idea and a lot of bands do it.

So stoked for their next album, love this band so much.

However I thought their live dvd performance was a bit weak.

I saw a vigier headstock in the still image before I played the video.

I saw that too, but it looks like there's a little "hook" on the end. It looks sort of like a Peavey headstock. Maybe he has a custom/possible sig?

    Maybe like Dev's?

    :yesway:

From the second vid, I do think Tim is playing a Vigier. Still hard to tell, as he's on screen for like 5 whole seconds.
