My brother has the Blackstar HT Dual which IMO, is the best distortion pedal on the market so I kind of already had high expectations for this amp. On the other hand, there was a little part of me that was doubtful that it could deliver awesome tones for such a cheap amp.

It honestly blew me away. I'm not into cleans much, but the clean sound on this amp was amazing. I was playing through the 2 matching 1x12 cabinets in case you were wondering and it was really nice. Clear and sparkly, the way cleans should be IMO.

The overdrive channel was really good, the ISP control, I think it's called, is a handy little thing, that came on the stompbox too. Only thing I think it might have needed was a boost, it was just lacking that extra bit of 'oomph' that I want to my sound.

It was really, really good though, and I'm seriously thinking about buying one for home use and who knows, maybe gigging and band practices too.

I really don't like the cleans, they're very Mesa-y (bold and punchy with no 'sparkle' or depth) but the gain channel has all I could need.

Those things would be perfect for home.

I bought one last week. Came in the mail friday. Got out in a trade today. For some reason, I didn't like it at all. :(

You had time to really try it? Weird. I think it takes a couple of weeks to fully discover an amp.

Funny, I find it quite "dark". Tried to roll back the treble?

I tried out one in my local music store and thought it was awesome. I also tried the orange tiny terror which was pretty good. I was torn between the two, the blackstar for it's metal sounds, and the orange for it's raw rock sounds.

    I'm thinking about a HT5 head into a Mesa or a Orange 2x12
