You guys need to check this out

    http://www.opera.com/download/

It may be my imagination, but pages seem to load faster, and overall it has a nice feel to it. And it's free now.

I still like Firefox a bit better, but Opera's got a nice product there. It appears they've moved away from being IE-based, though, which is a positive from a security standpoint...

I thought the same thing, except that Opera is noticeably faster than Firefox.

I've used Opera since the first version came out and it has never been based on IE.

I've been using Firefox exclusively for about a year now and love it.. Now that Opera is free, I downloaded it this morning, and really like it so far. And as has been mentioned, it does seem to be faster than FF.

Firefox is slow out of the gate, because it doesn't have pipelining turned on by default. Go here, and you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Oh, if you have dial-up, don't bother...as a matter of fact, don't even bother getting online.

I used to use Opera back in the day, and it's still the default browser on my laptop, but as that isn't online...

It's a great app. It bills itself as the fastest browser, and it may actually be, but for me, the "navigating by mouse gestures" thing was just awesome.

Eh, I've been meaning to download it, guess now's a good time. :)

(and as I recall, it'd always been free, just it had a smallish ad bar at the top unless you paid to register it, right?)
