Well, I was lucky enough to score this Oni 8-string guitar here on Sevenstring.org from Papa Shank, contact with whom will from now on always be followed by undying gratitude.

This is the guitar of my dreams. For pics, check the classifieds.
    - Ziricote neck-thru; neck and wings are same material. Body is small, but comfortable.
    - 660mm-600mm fanned fret fretboard
    - Gotoh tuners
    - Bareknuckle pickups
    - 2 small volume pots that also act as push-button pickup kills

Plays like a dream... it only took me a couple minutes to get used to it. Sweeping is actually even easier with the fanning, and pickup switching/blending can easily be done on the fly. If I ever win the megabucks, I'll buy a 2nd one with a regular-size body.

My new #1 guitar, for certain.:hbang:

    Dude....

You so need to post proportion pics of the guitar on you.

I have this fetish for small body guitars...

    Cool! :yesway:

DPM (the builder & forum member here) will be very happy that the guitar was kept in the SS.org family. ;)

TMM, nice to hear you're happy with it!! If there's anything you want to know about it please contact me. What do you think of the BareKnuckles?
    That's 600m - 660mm scale btw peoples :) Close enough, though ;)
And yes, it is nice that it's still in the 'family'. Nicer still that the verdict is positive!

Ah very nice... I may have to PM you about it later.

The Bareknuckles are awesome, which I was pretty certain they would be. I've always told everyone that asks me, the EMG-707s are the 7-string pickup to have... unless you have the money for Bareknuckles. What models are these? Or, I should probably say, what models are they designed after? I really liked the Warpig, but whatever these are, they sound amazing.

The neck pickup reminds me of a DiMarzio Air Norton, but more rich through the midrange... nice, clear, piano like tones. The bridge sounds like something altogether new to me. It has amazing definition without being brittle, but a very rich midrange as well, kind of like a Tone Zone, but with more sting in the top end... and more low end, but I think that may partially be the wood.

On a side note, the bridge pickup seems prone to feeding back more easily than even my EMG-707s... is it really that hot, or is there some other reason for that? Nothing I can't handle, especially with the nice little killswitches, but I'm just curious.

They're based on the warpig models (if my memory is working correctly). I didn't really notice the bridge giving off too much feedback, that said I never had my amp all that loud when I was playing.

Hmm. Could be that the pickup mounting foam has compressed a little. Check if it rocks side to side easily.
I've redesigned the pickups slightly since then so that both coils mount on a base plate more like a standard humbucker. They are based on the Warpig set as Paul stated.

Yes, I did notice that they move around easier than I would have expected. You're saying its because the foam has compressed? How would I change that?

I'll PM you as soon as I get a chance, there's a couple of possible fixes but the explaination would take the thread too far off topic.
