So you telling me that while its been almost 2 years since order book re-opened again people are about to have guitars built? How is this possible when people who place 4 years ago still waiting? It is 4 years and you are wrong. I ask a few guys

It's been exactly 1 year since the order book reopened, down to the day. And i'm pretty sure that anyone that placed an order 4 years ago was affected by the construction on Dylan's shop and other things that were going on a couple of years back.

    Order placed: 6/4/10
    Guitar finished: 1/25/11
(Body had already been carved, but heavy fretboard art)

    Order placed: 1/4/13
    Guitar finished: 5/20/14
    (No fancy artwork)

Obviously this was a bit before the rush, and I got kind of lucky in that my second one was the last batch of Phil's and before the shop incidents, and it didn't require any special painting, etc. to boost time. But just as you quote 4 years as the expected time, it's like me quoting 1-1.5 years as expected. These are both outliers of the average. Feel free to post your actual dates from the few guys you asked.

My build was around 3 1/2 years, ordered early 2012, got it summer 2015. A few guys after were waiting up to 4 years. I think it went down a good bit after that once the shop and finishing was sorted.

Cheers dudes! Its been a slow recovery but hoping to get back playing a few mins a day next week.

Yep, thats my old cimmerian(thought I'd never say that!), anyone who buys that is getting an incredible guitar. I don't think I'll ever come across a guitar with a smoother fretboard and frets.

That is awesome and a really cool thing to do for your son.

I might change the blue to a green with blue burst. There's no real theme, I just want an HSS King V, can't really get that outside of a custom order. I don't think I've ever seen a V with an HSS pickup layout before. Essentially, it's just a mix of my Jackson DK-2 and my King V STD that I've had for about 4 years and a colour that isn't just gloos black.

Excuse the double post, but I've just spoken to Barnes on Facebook and luckily the changes I want to my guitar won't make it too much more expensive, if anything it should make it cheaper since I'm not going with inlays on the fretboard anymore, plus I've decided I don't need a strap. So about £210 less than it was. I also decided on a purple burst to go with the blue because I really like how that looks. Honestly, I'm super torn between green with blue burst and blue with purple burst, I've planned on going with one colour, then ordering the same guitar in the other colour in the future. I am really looking forward to whatever I end up with, having something that I literally can't find anywhere else sounds great, and I can't wait to post pictures up here to whore my guitar out for likes haha.

I'm going to go ahead and suggest you probably want to get strap pins installed, for future-you.

@Conjuring Gogue is dad of the year, all years!

I'm at my 1 year anniversary since my deposit as of this month, and to be honest I've appreciated having the time to mull over my options. Can't wait to see more builds coming through the pipeline - the Impaler is bloody fantastic*!

Funny. I meant the Daemoness strap that's offered on the last page of the sheet you fill in. I had originally added it, but I've got multiple guitar straps in my room already.

Three of these listed on ebay. I know the guy selling and he's only listing to help a friends family out through a difficult time. Lets just say Cancer sucks. I've done several deals with him over the years and he straight up legit. Hit him up if seriously interested.

Ah sucks. He should really update his photos though -- the photos of Lorcan's are awful, could almost pass for an agile. Not many people are going to be enticed by those, at least, not until they see Lorcan's vid.

Playing with the thought of changing shapes from a Hadian/Confessor to either a Valkenbyrd or Cimmerian.

Now, since my build hasn’t even started yet this is just a hypothetical discussion on the preference and feel of shapes. I’ve never owned a V, but can play them sitting without any problems. What do you guys think would look best totally blacked out with one direct mount humbucker and a Floyd?

Not really sure about totally blacked out, but I think this Hadian is looking pretty amazing in its current config with the contrasting bobbins:
