Before - www.exotic-woods.com has a whole bunch of 13 inch wide 5 foot long dyed maple veneer sheets - purple, blue, green, oranges, yellows...

I used blue ones in a carvetop that i've been working on for while. It might see the light of day soon.

Thanks for that! I think I'll order a few and give it a try. Looking forward to seeing that carve top. I have to look at your green 8 string every once in a while and drool a bit.

Just an update to everyones whos interested: I just received my Bowes 7 today. I'll be doing an indepth review of the guitar probably later this weekend with some delicious NGD pictures.

To anyone whos hesitating ordering a bowes let me put your worries to rest, Brian has been FANTASTIC to work with. Hes incredibly accommodating and we literally chatted 5/6 times a week. He makes a seriously awesome guitar the attention to detail is top notch and the wood choices are insane! (If you aren't sure which ones mine its #15).

Props to Brian again, I'll probably be a returning customer!

Hey Brian, have you done a Flex8 (I think that's what it's called - the fanned 8 model) yet? I didn't see any pictures of one on the website gallery. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm thinking I may want one. Dang GAS.

I haven't finished the prototype yet, but its close. The Facebook page has a gallery with all the pics - the website only gets the finished product. :)

    This is true.

I thought sassafras smelled really nice until I found out that it's carcinogenic. :(

RIght now this one is strung up and just waiting for pickups. I'll be fine tuning and doing cleanup on it this week.

You should one day do a pistachio fretboard on roasted maple. It smells like an amazing dessert.
