Well, as some people here might know, I had a deposit on a used Parker Fly Deluxe for a while. I payed it off recently, and the guitar was being checked before it was shipped off to me, but the jack had to be replaced, and then I was informed that the piezo wasn't working, so the guitar had a lot of issues.

The seller was very cool about it though, and I got a refund on the full price, deposit and all. :yesway:

I'm still a bit sad though, because I was hoping to get hold of a good guitar with piezos, and the Parker Fly Deluxe was just about perfect.

    Oh well...

I think I might just take this time to save a little longer, and see if I can stretch to a Petrucci 7! Yeah, I'm not really bothered about the new model coming out, and I've had serious gas pains for the current Petrucci model for a long time.

Ideally I'd like to get it in Pearl Redburst, Piezos, Matching Headstock, regular inlays, and with the D-Sonic in bridge. That would completely rock my anus.

Dude you can find Parker Deluxes on eBay for $900 all the time. I used to have two of them. I paid $750 for one, $900 for the other (the $900 being mint). Theyre a lot better than the Petrucci model bro. Just get one on eBay :yesway:

Oh yeah, youre in Europe or something...

That one's missing a string too though. :p

I think at some stage in the future I might look into a Parker Fly again, but right now I'd really like to snap up a Petrucci as I don't really like the new model.

Damn, man that's harsh. Cool that the seller gave you all your money back, though. Hope you can get the JP7. :yesway:

I'm not a huge fan of how the Petrucci looks, but i still love mine. Once you play it and hear it, you kind of forget that it's not the sexiest guitar out there.

It's built to be a playing machine, not a work of art. And i'm okay with that.

I loved my JP7, it played and sound beautifully. I got a really good deal on it though, I really wouldn't recommend paying anywhere close to new. Theyre nice but they charge custom shop prices. You could get two Universes for one of those.

I've been keeping a very close eye on ebay, there's no way I'll be buying one in Europe, because a new Petrucci 7 with all options from thomann.de goes for a whopping e3500 which is $4436 for US peeps.

I'm hoping I can get one from the states though, because they actually seem reasonablely priced there. The only problem is, a lot of places won't ship outside of the US.

I wouldn't expect a JP to sound half as good as a Parker as far as the piezo is concerned. I used to have 2 JP models, one with the piezo and one without. I ended up selling the one with the piezo because IMHO it sounded like crap.

I believe you really need a hard board wood to make those notes sound anything close to an acoustic tone. Rosewood + piezo = strings that sound like rubber bands. Now, an ebony boarded guitar with stainless steel frets is a whole different matter...

Import fees and shipping sucks ass. It's almost best to fly to the States and buy it and then "hand carry" it back in an ATA certified case. For the price of some round trip tickets to the States from abctravel.de it ends up cheaper that way. My only concern for our British friends is convincing airport customs agents that you don't owe any import fees.
