I'm a guitarist that plays a 7-string tuned to A standard, a 6-string tuned to B standard, and an 8-string tuned to F# standard. I'm looking to form a band, not join one, so I'm looking for the whole gamut - singer, guitarist, bassist, drummer. At the moment I am using Superior Drummer to lay down drum tracks and I play my 5-string bass on my tracks to fill in. I prefer musicians local to me but for a singer I will entertain the possibility of working together via the internet if I think your voice is a perfect fit, though you will need to be able to record your vocals over the music I'd send of course. I live in Bayonne NJ which is literally less than 10 miles to Manhattan. My influences include, but are not limited to: Slipknot, Soulfly, Korn, Deftones, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Type O Negative, Sigur Ros, Dead Can Dance, Gojira. If interested please respond and I can provide more information. Here are three tracks of mine - the first two are recent and the last is an old track I did with the drummer I had at the time:

    Damn dude...

From a songwriting perspective that first song has too many riffs stuffed into one.

Break that sucker up into about 4 different, kick @ss songs....

Sorry, just seeing this now. I've done a lot of the usual intro->verse->fill->chorus x repeat, then add bridge, etc patterning for a long time. While it's good I get a bit tired of doing that all the time. If you take note the last track "Mask" is in that style. I still do that occasionally but I've gotten more into a lot of change in songs rather than repitition. Still though, the first two tracks do repeat their verses though I made each chorus different.

Thanks for giving them a listen and for your feedback, I really appreciate it! :metal:

Thanks man! :metal: I honestly can't understand why it's soooo incredibly difficult to find other musicians to work with these days. I'd think with these days of the internet it would be easier to locate others in one's vicinity with the same musical interests but when you look at it there isn't even a single major musician classified site outside of Bandmix, at least that I can think of. And BandMix wants like $10 a month or something stupid just to be able to message someone. And on other metal forums and drummer forums etc there's often no section for people seeking out band members. It's definitely a very long hard (giggity [IMG]) road.

I hear you man.. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm either trying to find members since I already have a drummer, or join a band altogether because ever since my old band broke up, I sure do miss creating songs with others and going out and playing shows and such..

    You should try www.themusicianfinder.com

it's free, and I think it's better than bandmix anyway. I joined that one a couple days ago.

So I joined up to that site and found a bunch of good fits and sent 15 different people messages 2 days ago and haven't heard a peep from a single one of them. :( I know it's only been two days but 15 people and not one response makes it seem that site might be more of a post and forget about it site. Thanks for sharing it though! Hopefully I'll get a response from one of them in the coming days, it did seems very promising from browsing the profiles.

Yeah that sucks man.. but it's not the sites fault that people don't keep up with their page on it haha. I too am waiting for people to respond or message me back; there's not many where I'm at, though. I'm starting to think I really need to move somewhere else to make this happen.

Well I'm in the NYC area and with all the millions of people one would think it would be far easier and I'll tell ya it's definitely not. But if you do relocate... I'm here :D
