So I had this Richmond (pre-Godin) for sale on CL, this lady hits me up to trade her partscaster, made of Warmoth neck, Sperzel locking tuners, and Bare Knuckle War Pigs and Piledriver. So the guitar is hideous, but it's made of top of the line shit, so I traded! The value of the pickups alone, even second hand, is more than the git I was selling, but it was definitely a quality instrument.

The high E slipped out of the tuner immediately when I tried to tune it up. I thought it was broken because I couldn't get the post back down. I unscrewed the back and a doll rod fell out. I put it back in and screwed in the locker screw and now it's fixed! Just need a new string. Oh, and body, because this thing is fucked up. It should be in my funniest guitar thread. Feast your eyes!

    Behold!!

I'm going to make a thread tomorrow probably about body shopping. I want to make this a doom guitar, what with the Sabbath cross inlays.

Are those inlays or stickers? Cause, y'know - it would be cool to turn them upside down!

In the best way. I'd keep it like that. I actually dig the body shape, moreso than regular Teles. I normally find Teles ugly by default, soooooo.

I usually love green on guitars. Usually.

Actual shape isn't too bad though. I think the shape of the pickguard kinda alters how the body shape comes across.

So none of you guys think it's a big deal that none of the stings are above the pickup poles?

In honesty, I actually don't know how important or not that is. I just know that thus far in my guitar owning I don't know that I've had any guitar with the strings so visually offset from the pole as does this guitar. I thought it meant that the body isn't properly matching the warmoth neck or something.

They are inlays, not stickers. It's an option on the Warmoth website, and as far as I know I think they are the only people who make a maple fretboard with these shape of inlays, it was part of the way that I'm able to know that it is a warmoth neck without unscrewing it.

I'm not religious or even Christian in a conventional sense, and I'm even pretty into upside crosses and Satanic imagery, but in my mind a Celtic style cross is some old-school doom metal imagery. Black Sabbath, Candlemass, St. Vitus, back before you needed to flip a cross upside to be extreme it was considered spooky enough just to have one shaped like a gravestone.

replace the pickguard to a black one, and it would actually look pretty cool.

It looks like it just has the wrong size pickup in the bridge.
my prs has been that way since I changed the pups...doesn't affect anything and I'm too lazy to buy the right sized pickup for it.

    That body is awesome tho?
Teles suck to play in classical position. that cutout is just what the doctor ordered.

I do like the shape, and if it's true that the poles not lining up with the strings or that jagged-ass neck pocket doesn't actually matter, then I'll probably keep the body and change to black pick guard.

The thing is, this isn't a normal shaped pick guard. Is there a place where you can just send in your pickguard and they make an exact duplicate of it in the color of your preference?

While technically yes a small order company should be able to fab one, you will pay so much more than companies out there that already offer custom pick guards.
