Sweet god, that finish. Satin on a PRS is just the secks.
What a find, congrats!
Put a DW Tomahawk in the neck and PW Hornet in the bridge.. WOAH
How is the PW Hornet, I dropped a set of DW's in one of my Waring Sigs and i really dig them. I saw this 24 on GC's used page and really wanted to jump on it but couldn't at the time, major jones for a Stoptail 24 and if i get my PS opportunity that will be the main spec.
trade you for a waring! haha just kidding.. i think
the hornet is really excellent. so good i ordered the tomahawk almost immediately after hearing it for the first time. it's got a ton of twang, but still has a muscular voicing--definitely one of the most actually versatile pickups i've tried so far. seems to work just as well with the mahogany body/maple top prs as it does in his swamp ash ibby
Very Cool, I dig Paul's playing but I can't get past the look of the Hornet i like a full cover or no cover , and the Waring's go nowhere LOL
totally get that--i called before ordering to ask about a full cover and it was an absolute 'NO' because of the mix of slugs and screws.. i was hesitant about the partial cover, but i love it. it's way better than an uncovered pickup for me because it still feels like i can anchor on a cover instead of tape
you say that about the waring's now.. just wait!
something about the mixing of pickup covers triggers me so hard, but hey it's your guitar man.
you should see an rga121 i had--camo cover in the neck and black hawk bridge! you'd hate it
edit: found it!
Very nice! Why can't I ever find anything like that
love the new pickup set you got going. I'm a big fan of chrome neck with uncovered bridge, just gives it that hot rod feel.
That guitar is friggin' beautiful. Congrats.
I love that this keeps getting bumped to remind me to look at it again.
Haha I still can't believe it's mine
Just waiting on a Morgan amp to come in so I can really start recording for my bands next release with it!
Nice! Safe from my drooling over it though as I find it really difficult to play those bridges.
Are you still having problems with the 2/4 positions?
I had a similar problem with replacement pickups on my Cu24 with a 5-way knob. Basically the magnet on the neck pickup needs to be reversed compared to the bridge as the PRS "in between" settings rely on this. I got the neck magnet reversed & pickup repotted and that fixed things (luckily the luthier that I use can do this!). Not sure whether the blade switch needs the same.
