Well after selling all my gear 3yrs ago and not touching a guitar since. Guess that's what starting a family can do. I'm back with an Ibanez Prestige 1527.

Spent most the weekend playing (a little rusty but its coming back) and its so nice to have a guitar back in my hands. Dimarzio X2N-7 just screams in this thing, stock neck pickup not to bad either but probably going to put in a Liquifire. Had one in my old Apex and loved it.

Classy looking guitar! Simple yet elegant and a sleeper with that X2N-7

One of my first 7s was an rg1527 that someone had routed to take EMGs. Cool axe for sure.

Still my favorite 7-string to date, and probably in my top 3 favorite guitars period. Perfect neck profile and every one of them I've played had a VERY expressive and well balanced piece of basswood.

    Congrats!

I switched from a 1527 to a KM7, but the 1527 has one of (if not the) best neck I've ever played. It's just so incredibly smooth and fast.

I switched to the KM7 because I was tired of floating trems. If the 1527 had a fixed bridge and some of the KM7 upgrades (locking tuners, coil splitter, stainless steel frets), I'd probably be in heaven.

I've still got mine.... the 1527 is never leaving this place, I hooked it up with a tremol-no and its super reliable now. ...

    Very nice! Congrats!
The RG1527 was my first 7-string. I never knew Ibanez made a black 1527 with the Edge Pro, I have only seen the black ones with the Edge Zero so far.

1527s are great. The neck profile is the best Ibanez have done IMO. Its disappointing that every other 7, even J-customs isn't as comfy.

Dude, congrats! Can't go wrong with a 1527. It was the first 7-string I got and so far the only that I have. It looks like it has went through a wood chipper but it still plays perfectly.

1527 was the first 7 I played and a complete workhorse, although I never bought one. A true classic.

Congrats. I've owned my RG1527 for over 10 years now, it's my baby. My shaken, dinged up baby.

Congratulations on the all flat black 1527! I have the same model but with a Titan 7 in the bridge and a PAF 7 in the neck. It's by far one of my favorite guitars I've ever had... but sometimes I think of upgrading to something else.

I have been floating selling my two 1527s (my 2005 like the one in this thread and a 2004), and instead getting a used J custom or a used Jackson SLAT3-7 (a model I once had). Does anyone think this particular iteration of the 1527 is superior to J customs in terms of sound? Sometimes I listen to Youtube vids of the mahogany/maple bodied J customs and think they really aren't too much better than a pickup upgraded RG1527 or RG752.

I have an '07 1527 and love it. Superb neck profile and very resonant body. Plays so good.

    Congrats!

    Congrats!

If you ever get really tired of the (booooooring) black, and wanna trade for the (gorgeous, incredibly ....unique .......) blue version, lemme know! ;)
