Hey all, back with another Ibanez 7. Turns out I can't resist any maple-boarded Fujigen with a Lo-Pro!

In lieu of somehow tricking international law and getting a RG8527-1VV back (I'll never stop kicking myself for selling that one months prior to CITES shenanigans), I've opted for a limited run RG752MFS. Very similar to the Axe Palace / WG runs, albeit with a more classic finish and offset dots. The binding is beautiful and the attention to detail is glorious. It plays phenomenal, as you might've guessed, and I think mahogany bodied RGs have a tighter sound - though I'd like to swap out the PAF7s for something a bit more along my tastes before committing to that statement. I'd like to see what a pickguard would do for it. Gold hardware + parchment bobbins... :agreed:.

As with every Fuji I've played, it meets and exceeds all expectations. I can't find a single fault, it arrived (from Italy all the way to Western Canada!) set up pretty damn well. I can already sense a dangerous habit forming ;)

    Thanks for looking!

Reminds me a lot of the RG7CST and that's definitely a good thing :yesway:

Congrats it's a great looking axe!

This one and the one in the Classifieds are the only 2 from this run that I've seen with mismatched tops, if you are into that sorta thing. Great guitar for sure.

Always loved killerburst runs. They know how to spec em out.

Those two guitars side by side have convinced me to ask my wife’s sister to marry me.

Congrats, love them both. Just curious and this isn't meant to be critical in any way, how thick is the maple top on these models?

It's a beautiful guitar, no doubt and I mean to take nothing from it, but if it's like other recent Prestige guitars with bound tops, it's a paper-thin veneer top. It's only 5mm of maple if they show if off with the exposed-edge faux binding.

It still would love love love to have one of these. Super jelly.

Well well, I might need to take a short road trip this weekend for... unspecified purposes.

Seriously though, that is a truly beautiful guitar. The rosewood board was the only thing that kept the RG8527 (and the RG7-CT, for that matter) from being absolutely perfect, and it looks amazing with this maple board. (Would have also looked amazing with ebony, a la RG7-CST.)

It is indeed a 5mm top. I'd love it to be less of a veneer, but I'm still satisfied with it. I'm not expecting PRS levels of tops with these.

I'd say the J-Custom RG8527 was the real twin, with the offset dots and Lo-Pro and all. Still miss that damn thing...

I'd kill for a CST, but that's a far off goal at the moment :p
