...but to get one after they announced to discontinue it. I always gassed for one, I had a bit of money saved up so why the hell not!

I've had an RG8 before and never really grew into it. I love 8 strings, love how they feel and resonate and just offer so much TO FVCKING DO. I've returned the RG8 right after I got it, that was 2 years ago.

The M80M on the other hand...it feels so, so solid. I like the finish, I like the bridge. The Lundgren is amazing and not as harsh as many people claim. The tone knob is DELICATE. You can get close to a neck-pickup sound by turning it down.

Frets were flawless on mine, no dings or other nasty things when it came. It's just well made.

And instead of uploading a ton of badly shot photos, I've decided to shoot a short little video for you guys to hear how it sounds in my mix and my Pod.

It's still got the 65 gauge string for the low F, which I will soon change to something a little more nasty. It did hold up great however, even though I'm using retarded tones, the articulation was there for such a light gauge. Hail to the 29.4 scale length.

Tell me what you think and if you have any questions about this monster! It definitely gets all of my three thumbs up.

    Cheers!

HNGD! I've been really digging the M80Ms lately, might pick one up to tune to D, C#, or B.

Awesome score, I have had mine since 2013 and have played the hell out of it, as far as I'm concerned this is 'the' 8 string to have and will always stay in my lineup.

I don't play much 8 string at the moment, but my M80M is staying. It's basically my ideal 8 and I know I'd have mega regret if I ever sold it.

I can honestly say that I've not felt even remotely tempted by another 8 string since I bought mine.

That Lundgren is one of my favourite pickups ever.

Thanks! I'm planning to go crazy with it as well, bought a 9 string set and see what I end up with.

Thanks man, I can't imagine parting from it either so far!

Yup. I've only had an RG8 and this one. Also played a TAM10 and the M80M just slays them, easily.

I LOVE my M80M. It's been one of the most inspiring instruments I've
had in 37 years of playing. Guess I'll have to get one more before

    Congrats!

    This guitar intrigues me.

I'm still waiting on my first 7 and my first Ibanez, an RG Premium, but when I was looking on their site and came across the M80M I almost said fuk the 7

It's really not much of a contest. You can feel the difference the moment you pick it up. :agreed:

Congrats on your new machine, just remember there's a third screw/anchor whenever you're adjusting the bridge!
