Got this guitar last week for a great price, drove 6 hours to try it out and I was really impressed by the playability, sound and overall fit & finish. It's on the heavy side due to all the amaranth (purpleheart) used but that doesn't bother me.
I've been following GNG guitars on FB for a while but their shapes (and prices) didn't appeal to me. This shape however I find really aesthetically pleasing and the woods chosen make it a really classy instrument.

    The good:
-the purple top is mesmerizing in person, it's way darker than on the pics,
-the neck is super thin and super smooth, the guy that sold it to me told me the shape exactly like on the EBMM JP models,
-first time trying the hipshot trem and I really like it - I'm super happy I ordered it on my custom Rusti that should be finished in the summer :shred:
-guitar is overall great, plays really really well.

    The bad:
-the 12th fret inlay is absolute cringe, I don't get why anyone would order that on a custom instrument. If I fall in love with this guitar enough to really keep it after honeymoon phase is over I'll have the part of the fretboard between 9th and 14th fret replaced.
-the control layout is totally different to what I'm used. I know it doesn't matter to many people but I find that having a blade switch and a vol knob positioned like on a strat crucial for my playing. I'll see if I can get used to this, not really liking the toggle, as always.

    Specs:

    Inlays: abalone

cool guitar but I agree that inlay is nasty. It reminds me of a tramp stamp.

Wow, I love it all, even the inlay. Quite a nice score there!

Gorgeous guitar. I think that inlay is actually working well for the overall look.

Gorgeous guitar, HNGD! Not many GNGs here. Agree the middle inlay looks like a tramp stamp but I wouldn't tear up the fingerboard over it. The neck and heel look amazing btw! How's the fretwork?

I kinda dig the inlay too. I'd rather have that inlay that something like skulls or flames or whatever other nonsense a teenager might want on their super pointy metal guitar.

If that inlay is a "tramp stamp", then that neck heel is an amazing, 100% all natural rack, and is COMPLETELY worth the trade off....lol

    Thanks for all the comments!

Like many of you, all my friends that have seen the guitar actually like the inlay too but I can't help but feel uncomfortable every time I look at it, just not my cup of tea I guess.
The guitar is otherwise top class, I'd say it's tied with a Feline B6 for the 'fastest' playing guitar I've played.

Haha that's one way to look at it yeah

The fretwork is really good (I'd say on par with Mayones, RAN...), but it doesn't have ball fret ends like a BW or a Rusti.

Sweet guitar! The inlay isn't too bad, at least it's well made even if it would look better without that abalone tribal whatever it is.

Seems you also get the pleasure of peeling off that cling film off the plastic covers.

Thanks everyone. Any opinions on how chrome covered pickups would look in there? I can't decide between the way it is now, zebra and chrome covers :ugh:

    I like the inlay!
I think is in pure GNG style: sometimes his guitars are a little 'too much', almost 'kitsch' and with a lot of colors.
    But I love them... congrats!
