First NGD post here so forgive some of the photos...they're a mix of cell phone/iPad/DSLR. Anyway, here's my newest guitar in the collection (my 4th 7-string, 4th Jackson, 17th overall). This is the Dave Davidson signature warrior (WR7) out of the Jackson Custom Shop. I believe 15 guitars were made to his exact specs and all were masterbuilt by the legendary Mike Shannon. Ordered this guitar back in the summer of 2016 shortly after they were announced and it arrived two weeks ago. They were rolling out in small batches and a 6 month wait wasn't too bad for an instrument of this caliber. The quality of this guitar is top-notch. Not a single flaw to be found and it came set up almost perfectly. I dropped it down 1/2 step and lowered the action slightly and adjusted the intonation on the 7th string. It plays like a dream and the neck has a natural finish and texture. The neck is a shredder, but not too thin...seems just right for my preferences. The body is surprisingly comfortable to play sitting down, you just have to watch out for the wings hitting your chair or desk. The pickups are Dave's signature Imperium 7s by DiMarzio with a coil split push/pull volume knob and single tone. They are exceptionally clear and sound great through several of my high gain kemper profiles (using EVH 5150 III mostly). So far I'm liking them better than the DiMarzios in my USA Broderick 7 but still prefer the ColdSweat neck tones in my Regius Wasabi. Also, they sound pretty decent in a clean setting. Other specs include: 24 jumbo frets, original Floyd rose trem, graphite reinforcement in the neck, 12-16" compound radius, piranha inlays, 25.5" scale, ebony board, maple neck, ash body. Finish is a charcoal stain that looks pretty dark indoors and in low lighting, but the grain still shows nicely, especially in daylight. Here's the pics...hope they link/load successfully!
