I was going to ditch this one but came across it yesterday and decided to finish it.
    Build thread here http://sevenstring.org/threads/accidental-solar-flare.319828/

I broke my nut file on the 4th nut slot so its still to filed down a little and the whole guitar needs setting up when I can be bothered.

Wow, just wow! I absolutely love the design - an original and VERY aestetically pleasing take on a super Strat!

Dude this thing is sick as hell. I love it.

As always your scarfs are a work of art. Wish you lived closer, I wanna play all of these but especially this one.

Even the cavity cover is pure awesome.

I love that you were gonna ditch it but instead it ends up looking like a top tier custom lol

Another pondman stunner. I love those bridges - Hipshot for a tenner! - and do I detect Vanson locking tuners there? If so, another plus one from me because they are as good as ones triple their price.

    +1 on Vanson.

been exclusively using his lockers for near 10 years. Must have bought 20odd sets of them and never had a issue with them.

also, do inform me of that bridge!!. Hipshot for a tenner?. Sounds intriguing.

Vanson for the win. Best hardware find of 2017 for me.

This is what you're looking for in terms of the budget Hipshot: https://www.axesrus.co.uk/Hard-Tail-Bridge-with-I-saddles-on-a-Hip-Shot-Base-p/bn201.htm

There's a few vendors sell them. They're probably a cheap alloy but they are reassuringly heavy. My only tiny criticism is there's a mm or two of lateral play with the saddles despite the baseplate being lipped.

If you want the next level up (and stainless saddles), look no further than here: http://www.axecaster.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=55

I used that on my last build and I find it's as good as a Hipshot apart from the aesthetics.
