Just being picky... Tune is good though! I dig it!

...Your gate is a little strong on the guitars for my taste and your chorus is so thick that it's making your guitar seem a little TOO out of tune. But, killer track man!

if you mean the part where it stops and then starts back up a la born of osiris, thats intentional, i like hard gating.

    ...it's kinda my "thing"

but i may look back into the tuning thing, because i make sure my strings are intonated and tuned right...

Right on. It's just my taste. haha. And the tuning is just the chorus. I don't think it's the guitar. it's just REALLY thick. What chorus did you use? A plug or a pedal?

POD farm chorus and yeah, that's it. lol

and yeah, i gotta turn down the low end on the middle guitar.

i had it set as a lead guitar which usually has a boosted low and high end, but i can thin it out a little and lower it some in the mix.

Stupid DSL. Took like three minutes to download. >.>
Loving it a lot. Very clean ;o. Especially at ~89 seconds :D.
I recommend knocking the EQ down at around 800 at a gain of around six dB for the guitar tracks. I loaded the mp3 into my DAW and tried this myself. Sounded pretty nice. Got rid of some of the squeaks and muffle.
You definitely have to teach me how you get your tracks so loud though!

Kwonnie, it's a 4 band and at the 800 mark, the gain is i shit you not, at 0.

if youre talking about some of the overall issues, i do that in mastering whichthis track has not been yet.

I'm just focusing on general tone and mixing.

    I don't see any issues. =\
I'm curious how you get the volume so loud without clipping.

you gotta be very frequency conscious.

i turn everything down, make sure the volume mix is good quiet them push it a little bit past the normal clip area in my DAW. the DAW will say anything over +/- 0 is clipping, but in my DAW, i can go to about 6.02 without it clipping, so the trick is to find the position on your mixer sliders that take it to that 6.02, but not ABOVE it. and then adjust the mix accordingly.

trust me, if you looked at my kick on my DAW on the vicual parts of the volume, the kick and snare clip like FUCK.

but they're just barely over the clip mark.

    I try.

truth is a lot of these songs are just years old riffs that i'm just now figuring out how to finagle together.

but this song i pretty much wrote on the spot as a challenge to myself

    thanks sean!

just so you guys know, i have a little story for those of you who havent added me on FB and thus seen it already:

someone asked me today, "why do you make so many songs back to back? don't you take a break? why do you do it?" I sat back, looked up, smiled, and said " because when they call me 'the hardest working man in showbiz', i wanna feel like i have earned the title"
